All Cities Are Made of Ashes
Slide Projections in an abandoned firestation, 2005
Peekskill, NY, USA
All cities are made of Ashes is a site-specific installation in Peekskill's historic firehouse, the Centennial Hose, which investigates the meaning and historical importance of fire through the passing of time and as a reminder of lost battles. Based on Peekskill's history, the Centennial Hose has become a signifier for the dialectical relationship between human progress and fire though projections of the aftermaths and remains of various fires.
