What we see is the skin, the surface. What lies underneath remains hidden from view. Venison disects the exterior and reveals the inner principle of taxidermy. How do interior and exterior relate to each other? How do we relate once the animal's flesh has been replaced by polystyrene? Venison analyses the inside-out relationship to animals as decorative trophies.
